Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup finely diced fresh strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp strawberry puree
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • Freeze-dried strawberry crumbs, optional
  • Sprinkles, optional
  • Fresh strawberry slices, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease silicone donut molds or an air fryer-safe donut pan.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
  7. Fill the prepared donut molds about three-quarters full with the batter.
  8. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and spring back when touched.
  9. Remove the donuts from the molds and allow them to cool completely.
  10. Whisk together the powdered sugar, strawberry puree, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the glaze.
  11. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and allow any excess to drip off.
  12. Decorate with freeze-dried strawberry crumbs, sprinkles, or fresh strawberry slices if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
  • If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain them thoroughly before adding to the batter.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the donuts light and fluffy.
  • Store glazed donuts at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze unglazed donuts for up to 2 months and glaze after thawing.
