Tender and juicy lamb meatballs seasoned with garlic, fresh parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, and oregano, then quickly browned in the air fryer. Serve them with pita, rice, vegetables, salad, or a cool yogurt sauce for an easy Mediterranean-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • Ground lamb
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Egg
  • Garlic, minced
  • Onion, finely grated or minced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Ground cumin
  • Ground coriander
  • Paprika
  • Dried oregano
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil or cooking spray, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) if recommended for your model.
  2. Place the ground lamb, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Gently mix just until the ingredients are evenly combined, avoiding excessive mixing or compacting.
  4. Shape the lamb mixture into evenly sized meatballs approximately 1 to 1½ inches in diameter.
  5. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or cooking spray if needed. Arrange the meatballs in a single layer with space between them for air circulation.
  6. Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for approximately 10–14 minutes, turning the meatballs or gently shaking the basket partway through cooking.
  7. Check the meatballs with an instant-read thermometer and continue cooking until the centers reach at least 160°F (71°C).
  8. Carefully remove the cooked meatballs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired and serve warm with your favorite sides or dipping sauce.

Notes

  • A standard batch makes approximately 16–20 medium meatballs, depending on their size.
  • Avoid overworking the lamb mixture to help keep the cooked meatballs tender.
  • For a Greek-style variation, add fresh mint, lemon zest, and extra oregano.
  • Add cayenne or chili flakes for spicier lamb meatballs.
  • Part of the ground lamb can be replaced with ground beef for a milder lamb flavor.
  • Fresh mint can be combined with parsley for a fresh, aromatic variation.
  • A small amount of crumbled feta can be mixed into the lamb for a salty, tangy variation.
  • Store cooked meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days.
  • Cooked meatballs can be frozen in a freezer-safe container and thawed in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • Reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave until thoroughly heated, taking care not to dry out the meatballs.
