Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 slices cheddar, mozzarella, or American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Tomato slices (optional addition)
  • Cooked bacon (optional addition)
  • Ham (optional addition)
  • Avocado (optional addition)
  • Garlic powder (optional addition)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
  2. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place two slices of bread butter-side down.
  4. Layer the cheese evenly on the bread.
  5. Add optional fillings if desired.
  6. Top with the remaining bread slices with the buttered side facing outward.
  7. Place the sandwiches into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Air fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
  9. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before slicing.
  11. Serve warm.
