Air Fryer Doritos are crispy, seasoned tortilla chips made from simple ingredients — tortillas, oil, and spices — air fried to golden perfection. They deliver all the crunch and flavor of classic chips without the deep frying or extra oil.

Ingredients

  • 6 corn tortillas (or flour tortillas)
  • 12 tsp cooking oil or spray
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: small pinch of sugar or MSG for classic Doritos flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Stack tortillas and cut each into 6 or 8 wedges.
  3. Lightly brush or spray both sides of each wedge with oil.
  4. Mix seasonings together in a bowl, then coat tortilla wedges evenly with the mixture.
  5. Arrange chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd.
  6. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  7. Remove chips and cool briefly — they’ll continue to crisp as they cool.
  8. Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Use corn tortillas for a traditional Doritos-style crunch; flour tortillas make softer chips.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste — try cayenne, ranch mix, or cheese powder for variations.
  • Let chips cool completely before storing to maintain crispness.
  • If chips soften later, reheat in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes at 320–350°F to re-crisp.
