Air Fryer Cream Cheese Wontons are crispy, golden bites filled with a smooth and savory cream cheese mixture. Made with minimal oil and cooked in the air fryer, they’re a lighter, less messy alternative to deep-fried wontons. Perfect for appetizers, snacks, or party platters, they deliver restaurant-style flavor at home.

Ingredients

  1. 20 wonton wrappers
  2. 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  3. 2 green onions, finely chopped
  4. ½ tsp garlic powder
  5. Pinch of salt
  6. Cooking spray or oil (for brushing)
  7. Optional: 1 tsp sugar for a sweet variation, ½ cup chopped imitation crab for crab rangoon
  8. Dipping sauce: sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or sweet and sour sauce

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.

  1. Lay out wonton wrappers on a clean surface and place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each.
  2. Moisten wrapper edges with water. Fold into a triangle, pouch, or envelope shape, pressing edges to seal tightly.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Lightly spray or brush the wontons with oil.
  5. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).
  6. Air fry 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do not overfill wontons—this can cause them to burst open while cooking.
  • Seal edges well with water to ensure they stay closed.
  • Serve immediately for the crispiest texture.
