This easy air fryer cake bakes up soft, fluffy, and beautifully golden in less time than a traditional oven. It’s a simple homemade dessert made with pantry staples and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) if it has a preheat function.
  2. Grease and line a 7-inch cake pan that fits comfortably inside the air fryer basket.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until a smooth batter forms.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Place the pan into the air fryer and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cake in the pan for several minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve plain or decorate with powdered sugar, frosting, or fresh fruit.
