Air Fryer Bread is a soft and fluffy homemade bread with a golden crust, made conveniently in the air fryer. This easy small-batch bread recipe delivers bakery-style results with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Melted butter (optional topping)
  • Sesame seeds (optional topping)
  • Garlic powder (optional topping)
  • Herbs (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf that fits inside your air fryer basket or pan.
  6. Place the dough into a parchment-lined air fryer-safe pan.
  7. Cover lightly and let the dough rise again for 20 minutes.
  8. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  9. Air fry the bread for 18 to 22 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover it with foil during the final minutes of cooking.
  11. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add shredded cheese and herbs to the dough for a savory variation.
  • Mix in cinnamon and raisins for a sweeter version.
  • Whole wheat flour can be used for a heartier loaf texture.
  • Brush with garlic butter after cooking for extra flavor.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
  • Freeze sliced bread for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat slices in the air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes to refresh texture.
