Ingredients

  • 24 plain or glazed donut holes
  • 1 cup milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles or finely chopped toasted nuts
  • 12 pretzel sticks, broken into short pieces
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate with the optional coconut oil until smooth using a microwave or double boiler.
  3. Dip the top third of each donut hole into the melted chocolate.
  4. Immediately coat the chocolate-covered portion with chocolate sprinkles or finely chopped toasted nuts.
  5. Break the pretzel sticks into short pieces to create acorn stems.
  6. Insert one pretzel piece into the top of each donut hole while the chocolate is still soft.
  7. Place the finished acorn donut holes on the prepared tray.
  8. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes until firm.
  9. Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy once the chocolate has hardened.
