This 4th of July Snack Mix is a festive combination of crunchy cereal, pretzels, popcorn, candy-coated chocolates, and creamy white chocolate. It’s a quick, no-bake treat that’s perfect for Independence Day parties, picnics, and backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice cereal squares
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup salted peanuts or mixed nuts
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet or countertop with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the rice cereal, pretzels, popcorn, peanuts, and candy-coated chocolates in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Melt the white chocolate chips with the coconut oil, if using, until smooth.
  4. Pour the melted white chocolate over the snack mixture.
  5. Gently stir until all the ingredients are evenly coated.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the red, white, and blue sprinkles over the mixture.
  7. Spread the coated snack mix into an even layer on the prepared parchment paper.
  8. Allow the chocolate to harden completely.
  9. Break the mixture into bite-sized clusters and transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container.

Notes

  • Add mini marshmallows for extra sweetness and a softer texture.
  • Mix in chocolate sandwich cookies or vanilla wafer pieces for added crunch.
  • Use festive star-shaped sprinkles for an extra patriotic touch.
  • Substitute almonds, cashews, or pecans for the peanuts if desired.
  • Drizzle melted milk or dark chocolate over the finished mix for additional flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place to prevent the chocolate from melting.
  • Do not freeze, as the texture may change after thawing.
