30 Minute Honey Baked Camembert is a warm and creamy appetizer topped with sweet honey, fragrant herbs, and crunchy nuts. This elegant baked cheese dish is perfect for entertaining, holiday gatherings, or cozy nights in and pairs beautifully with crusty bread, crackers, and fresh fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 Camembert cheese wheel
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary or thyme
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Crusty bread or crackers for serving
  • Optional dried cranberries or figs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove any plastic wrapping from the Camembert and place the cheese back into its wooden box if oven-safe, or transfer it to a small baking dish.
  3. Using a sharp knife, lightly score the top of the cheese in a crisscross pattern.
  4. Insert small slices of garlic into some of the cuts.
  5. Drizzle olive oil and honey over the top of the cheese.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, fresh rosemary or thyme, sea salt, and black pepper.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is soft and melted in the center.
  8. Carefully remove from the oven and let rest for 2–3 minutes.
  9. Drizzle with additional honey if desired and garnish with dried cranberries or figs.
  10. Serve warm with crusty bread, crackers, apple slices, or pears.

Notes

  • The rind of Camembert is edible and becomes soft and flavorful when baked.
  • Brie cheese can be substituted if Camembert is unavailable.
  • Add chili flakes for a sweet and spicy variation.
  • Fresh figs, pears, or caramelized onions make excellent toppings.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat gently in the oven.
  • Serve immediately while the cheese is warm and creamy.
