3 Ingredient Puff Pastry Jam Tarts are flaky, buttery pastries filled with sweet fruit jam for an easy and elegant dessert. Perfect for brunches, tea parties, holidays, or quick baking, these simple tarts deliver bakery-style results with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam or preserves
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Fresh berries (optional)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
  • 2 tbsp sliced almonds (optional)
  • 2 tbsp vanilla glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into 8 squares or circles.
  4. Place the pastry pieces onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Spoon a small amount of jam into the center of each pastry piece.
  6. Fold or pinch the edges slightly to create a tart shape if desired.
  7. Brush the pastry edges lightly with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Allow the tarts to cool slightly before serving.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar or add optional toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Raspberry, strawberry, apricot, and blueberry jams all work beautifully.
  • Do not overfill the tarts to prevent jam from overflowing.
  • Prick the center lightly with a fork if you want less puffing beneath the jam.
  • Add cream cheese beneath the jam for a richer variation.
  • These tarts are best enjoyed fresh for maximum flakiness.
  • Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat briefly in the oven to restore crispness.
