Indulge in a showstopping dessert with this White German Chocolate Cake with a Cheesecake Center! Combining the moist richness of white cake, the creamy tang of cheesecake, and the sweet frosting of a traditional German chocolate cake, this dessert will impress at any occasion. Whether you’re celebrating a special event or treating yourself to something extraordinary, this cake brings together the best of both worlds—decadent yet light, with a stunning cheesecake surprise in the middle.

Ingredients

  • 1 package white cake mix
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg whites, vanilla extract, and melted unsalted butter. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
  • For the cheesecake center, carefully spoon your favorite cheesecake filling into the center of the batter in each pan (making sure it doesn’t touch the edges).
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the edges of the cake comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, frost with your choice of frosting—traditional German chocolate frosting or a simple whipped cream or cream cheese frosting are great choices.

Notes

  • Chocolate Cake Option: Swap the white cake mix for chocolate cake mix for a rich twist.
  • Fruit Filling: Add fresh fruit like raspberries or strawberries to the cheesecake center for a fruity surprise.
  • Nutty Topping: For a more traditional German chocolate cake flair, top the cake with toasted coconut and pecans.
