The Watermelon Basil Mocktail is a refreshing and herbaceous non-alcoholic drink that blends juicy watermelon with fresh basil and lime for a unique and summery flavor. Perfect for hot days and elegant occasions alike.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seedless
  • 68 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 12 teaspoons honey, agave syrup, or simple syrup (to taste)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or still water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: watermelon wedges, basil sprigs, lime wheels

Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree the watermelon until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother texture if desired.
  2. In a pitcher or glass, gently muddle the basil leaves with lime juice and sweetener to release flavor.
  3. Add the watermelon juice and stir well to combine.
  4. Fill serving glasses with ice.
  5. Pour the watermelon-basil mixture over the ice.
  6. Top with sparkling water or still water.
  7. Stir gently and garnish with basil, lime, or watermelon wedge.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy cold.

Notes

  • Use very ripe watermelon for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • Fresh basil is essential—dried won’t provide the same taste or aroma.
  • Prepare the juice base ahead and add sparkling water just before serving to keep it fizzy.
