Tomato Basil Garlic Bread is a vibrant and flavorful twist on classic garlic bread, topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a garlicky butter spread on a crispy loaf. Perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or snack.

Ingredients

  1. 1 loaf French or Italian bread (baguette or similar)
  2. 1 cup fresh tomatoes, diced
  3. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  4. 3 garlic cloves, minced
  5. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  6. 2 tbsp olive oil
  7. 1/2 tsp salt
  8. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  9. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  1. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread the garlic butter evenly over both halves of the bread.
  4. Top with diced tomatoes and chopped fresh basil.
  5. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if using.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.
  7. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes at the end.
  8. Remove from oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add mozzarella or provolone for a cheesy version.
  • Include red pepper flakes for a spicy twist.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze after baking for a sweet-tangy finish.
  • Use roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter garlic flavor.
  • Make it vegan by using plant-based butter and skipping or replacing the cheese.
