Teriyaki Pina Colada Burger is a tropical-inspired twist on the classic burger, featuring juicy teriyaki-glazed beef patties, caramelized grilled pineapple, and a creamy coconut-lime spread. Sweet, savory, and refreshing, this burger brings bold island flavor to any cookout or weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices crispy bacon (optional)
  • Jalapeño slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 patties slightly larger than the buns.
  3. Grill patties for 4–5 minutes per side or until desired doneness. During the last few minutes, brush with teriyaki sauce and top with cheese to melt.
  4. Grill pineapple rings for 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized and grill marks appear.
  5. Lightly toast burger buns on the grill for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Spread pina colada sauce on the bottom bun. Layer lettuce, teriyaki-glazed patty, grilled pineapple, red onion, and optional toppings.
  7. Top with remaining bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh pineapple for the brightest flavor, but drained canned rings work well.
  • Do not overwork the meat to keep patties tender and juicy.
  • Prepare the pina colada spread up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Store leftover patties separately from toppings for up to 3 days.
  • Cooked patties can be frozen for up to 2 months.
