Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 34 lemons)
  • 68 fresh basil leaves
  • 3 cups cold water or sparkling water
  • 23 tablespoons sugar, honey, or agave syrup (to taste)
  • Ice, for serving
  • Optional garnish: basil leaves, lemon slices, extra strawberries

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine strawberries, lemon juice, basil leaves, sweetener, and water.
  2. Blend until smooth and the basil is fully incorporated.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher for a smoother texture (optional).
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with basil leaves, lemon slices, or strawberries if desired.

  • Use sweet, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used and will chill the drink faster.
