Ingredients

  1. For the tofu:
    • 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu (pressed)
    • 2 tbsp cornstarch
    • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
    • 1 tsp smoked paprika
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 1 tsp chili powder
    • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  2. For the sauce:
    • 1/3 cup vegan mayo or plain plant-based yogurt
    • 12 tbsp sriracha or hot sauce
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
    • 1/2 tsp maple syrup or agave (optional)
  3. For the wrap:
    • 4 large flour tortillas or wraps
    • 1 cup lettuce or baby spinach
    • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
    • 1/2 cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
    • 1 avocado, sliced
    • 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
    • Fresh cilantro or mint, optional

Instructions

Prepare the tofu: Press tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into cubes. Toss with cornstarch, oil, and spices until evenly coated. Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy.

  1. Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together vegan mayo, sriracha, garlic powder, lemon juice, and maple syrup (if using). Taste and adjust seasoning.
  2. Assemble the wraps: Warm tortillas. Spread sauce over each, then layer lettuce, carrots, cucumber, cabbage, avocado, and tofu. Drizzle with more sauce and sprinkle with herbs if using. Fold in sides, roll tightly, and slice in half.

Notes

  1. Warm tortillas before assembling to prevent tearing.
  2. Adjust spice level by reducing cayenne or hot sauce.
  3. To keep crispy tofu, assemble wraps just before eating.
