  • 3 cups corn cereal squares
  • 3 cups wheat cereal squares
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 2 cups mixed nuts
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat smoker to 225°F (107°C) using mild wood such as hickory, pecan, or applewood.
  2. In a large bowl, combine rice cereal, corn cereal, wheat cereal, pretzels, and mixed nuts.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt.
  4. Pour butter mixture over dry ingredients and toss gently until evenly coated.
  5. Spread mixture evenly into a large disposable aluminum pan or baking sheet.
  6. Smoke for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring every 20–30 minutes to ensure even flavor and prevent burning.
  7. Remove from smoker once crisp and dry.
  8. Cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Stirring regularly prevents burning and ensures even seasoning.
  • Add cheese crackers or bagel chips for extra variety.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
  • If mixture softens, refresh in a 250°F oven for 10–15 minutes.
  • Use gluten-free cereals and pretzels if needed.
