Southwest Chicken Wrap is a flavorful and filling wrap packed with seasoned chicken, black beans, corn, fresh veggies, cheese, and a creamy Southwest sauce all wrapped in a soft tortilla. It’s a perfect quick lunch or dinner with bold, zesty flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast (grilled, shredded, or rotisserie)
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup black beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 1/2 cup corn (grilled, canned, or thawed frozen)
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce or spinach
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 avocado or 1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1/3 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sour cream (or Greek yogurt), lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the Southwest sauce. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, combine cooked chicken with a few spoonfuls of the Southwest sauce and toss to coat.
  3. Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave to make them easier to roll.
  4. Lay out each tortilla and layer with lettuce, black beans, corn, tomatoes, red onion, cheese, and avocado.
  5. Add the seasoned chicken on top of the fillings.
  6. Drizzle with additional Southwest sauce and sprinkle with fresh cilantro if desired.
  7. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly like a burrito.
  8. Slice each wrap in half and serve immediately, or wrap in foil or parchment for later.

Notes

  • For a crispy version, grill the assembled wraps for 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Keep wet ingredients like tomato and avocado separate if prepping ahead.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience and faster prep.
  • Can substitute chipotle ranch or bottled Southwest dressing if desired.
