A smoothie bowl is a thick and creamy blend of frozen fruits served in a bowl and topped with fresh ingredients like granola, fruit, seeds, and nut butter. It’s a refreshing and nutritious way to start your day or enjoy a healthy snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1/4 cup frozen mango or pineapple (optional)
  • 1/41/3 cup liquid (almond milk, coconut water, dairy milk, or juice)
  • Toppings:
  • Granola
  • Fresh fruit (banana slices, berries, kiwi, etc.)
  • Chia seeds
  • Coconut flakes
  • Nut butter
  • Seeds or nuts
  • Honey or agave (optional drizzle)

Instructions

  1. In a high-powered blender, combine frozen fruit and a small amount of liquid.
  2. Blend until thick and smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Use as little liquid as possible to keep it spoonable.
  3. Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl.
  4. Add toppings like granola, fresh fruit, seeds, and nut butter in rows or clusters for presentation.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy with a spoon.

Notes

  • Use a tamper or pause to scrape down the blender for easier blending.
  • Freeze your fruit in advance for a thicker texture.
  • Prepare toppings before blending for quicker assembly.
  • Use unsweetened milk and avoid added sweeteners for a low-sugar option.
