Ingredients

  • 4 oz smoked salmon, sliced
  • 4 oz cream cheese or crème fraîche
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or chives, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 20 small crackers, mini toasts, cucumber slices, or blini
  • Optional: 1 tbsp capers
  • Optional: 1 tbsp finely diced red onion
  • Optional: 1 tsp horseradish or mashed avocado

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese with lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped herbs, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Lay out the chosen base (crackers, cucumber slices, blini, or toasts) on a serving platter.
  3. Spread a small amount of the cream cheese mixture on each base.
  4. Top with a piece of smoked salmon, folded or rolled for presentation.
  5. Garnish with extra herbs, capers, or finely chopped red onion if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for up to 2 hours before serving.
