Slow Cooker Country Style Ribs are tender, juicy pork ribs slow-cooked in a rich, flavorful BBQ sauce. With minimal prep, this easy dish delivers comforting, fall-apart meat perfect for family dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 34 lbs boneless or bone-in country style pork ribs
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika or chili powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season ribs with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika or chili powder if using.
  2. Place sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Arrange seasoned ribs on top of the onions.
  4. In a bowl, mix barbecue sauce, vinegar or Worcestershire, and brown sugar. Pour over the ribs, coating evenly.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until ribs are fork-tender.
  6. Optional: Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with additional BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes until caramelized.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.

Notes

  • No searing required, but it can enhance flavor.
  • Bone-in ribs add extra richness if preferred.
  • Add chopped carrots or potatoes for a one-pot meal.
  • For a spicy kick, use a spicy BBQ sauce or add hot sauce.
  • Great for freezing—cool completely before storing in airtight containers for up to 2 months.
