Ravioli Casserole is a comforting, cheesy, and hearty dish combining pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese. This easy-to-make casserole is perfect for a weeknight dinner or casual gathering and can be customized with various ravioli types, cheeses, and extra toppings.

Ingredients

  1. 1 (25 oz) package frozen ravioli (cheese, meat, or spinach)
2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)
    1 teaspoon dried basil
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil.

  1. Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the dish. Layer frozen ravioli on top (no need to thaw). Spoon 1 cup of marinara sauce over the ravioli and top with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of sauce and cheese.
  2. Sprinkle dried basil, oregano, and garlic powder over the top layer for added flavor.
  3. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  4. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a meat version, add cooked ground beef, sausage, or chicken between layers.
  • For extra cheese, consider adding ricotta cheese or more mozzarella.
  • Use red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
