A quick and flavorful steak marinade that tenderizes and infuses beef with savory, rich flavors in just minutes. Perfect for grilling, pan-searing, or broiling any cut of steak.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or a few dashes of hot sauce for spice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and black pepper. Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce if desired.
  2. Place steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steaks, making sure they are evenly coated.
  4. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 15–30 minutes for a quick marinade, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
  5. Remove steaks from the marinade and pat dry before cooking.
  6. Grill, broil, or pan-sear the steaks to your desired doneness.
  7. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley for extra aroma.
  • Swap lemon juice for balsamic vinegar for a slightly sweeter profile.
  • Do not reuse marinade that has been in contact with raw meat unless boiled first.
  • Marinate no longer than 12 hours to prevent overly soft texture.
