Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or a few dashes of hot sauce for spice
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and black pepper. Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce if desired.
Place steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the steaks, making sure they are evenly coated.
Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 15–30 minutes for a quick marinade, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
Remove steaks from the marinade and pat dry before cooking.
Grill, broil, or pan-sear the steaks to your desired doneness.
Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Add fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley for extra aroma.
Swap lemon juice for balsamic vinegar for a slightly sweeter profile.
Do not reuse marinade that has been in contact with raw meat unless boiled first.
Marinate no longer than 12 hours to prevent overly soft texture.
