Quick Dumpling Dipping Sauce is a flavorful blend of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger that perfectly complements dumplings and Asian-inspired appetizers. This simple sauce balances salty, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors and comes together in just minutes.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil or 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, finely sliced

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and rice vinegar.
  2. Add the sesame oil and stir to combine.
  3. Mix in the minced garlic and grated ginger.
  4. Add the sugar or honey and stir until dissolved.
  5. If desired, add chili oil or chili flakes for heat.
  6. Stir in the sliced green onions.
  7. Taste the sauce and adjust the balance of vinegar, sweetness, or spice if needed.
  8. Serve immediately with dumplings or other appetizers.

Notes

  • Black vinegar can replace rice vinegar for a deeper flavor.
  • Low-sodium soy sauce can be used to reduce saltiness.
  • Toasted sesame seeds can be added for extra texture.
  • A splash of lime juice can brighten the flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and stir before serving.
