Pinwheel Sandwiches are bite-sized wraps filled with savory deli meats, cheeses, and fresh vegetables, all rolled up into a fun and delicious pinwheel shape. These easy-to-make sandwiches are perfect for parties, picnics, or quick snacks.

Ingredients

  1. 6 large flour tortillas (whole wheat, spinach, or sun-dried tomato for variety)
    1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
    1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    Salt and pepper to taste
6 slices deli meat (turkey, ham, chicken, or roast beef)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
    1/4 cup lettuce, finely chopped
    1/4 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
    Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Cream Cheese Spread: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  1. Prepare the Fillings: Wash and chop the vegetables (lettuce, cucumber, and bell pepper). Lay out the tortillas on a flat surface.
  2. Spread the Cream Cheese Mixture: Evenly spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on each tortilla, covering the entire surface.
  3. Layer the Fillings: Place a slice of deli meat in the center of each tortilla. Then, add shredded cheese, followed by a handful of chopped lettuce, cucumber, and bell pepper.
  4. Roll the Tortillas: Carefully roll up each tortilla tightly, ensuring that the filling stays inside. Be gentle to prevent spilling. Roll from one edge to the other, keeping the roll tight.
  5. Slice the Pinwheels: Using a sharp knife, slice each rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick pinwheels, making about 8-10 pinwheels per tortilla.
  6. Serve: Arrange the pinwheels on a platter. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or dill if desired, and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, replace the cream cheese with cashew cream cheese or hummus and use vegan deli meat and cheese.
  • For a spicy kick, add jalapeños, hot sauce, or sriracha to the filling.
  • For a sweeter variation, add thin slices of apple or grapes to the filling.
  • Pinwheel sandwiches can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
