Ingredients

2 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or brioche)
2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
2 tablespoons jelly or jam (your choice of flavor)
1 slice cheese (cheddar or American works best)
Butter (for grilling)

Instructions

  1. Spread peanut butter on one slice of bread and jelly on the other.
  2. Add a slice of cheese between the peanut butter and jelly slices.
  3. Close the sandwich and butter the outside of both slices of bread.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  6. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use different types of jelly such as strawberry, raspberry, or grape for varied flavor.
  • Swap out the cheese with brie for a gourmet twist.
  • Add banana slices inside the sandwich for extra richness.
  • Try almond or cashew butter as an alternative to peanut butter.
  • Add a dash of cinnamon or a drizzle of honey for extra warmth and sweetness.
