Peanut butter bars are a no-bake dessert with a creamy peanut butter and graham cracker base topped with smooth melted chocolate. They’re rich, chewy, and taste just like a peanut butter cup in bar form.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or quick oats)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • Optional garnish: crushed peanuts, flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt (if using) until smooth.
  2. Stir in powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs until a thick, even dough forms.
  3. Press mixture into a greased or parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan and smooth the top.
  4. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave (30-second intervals) or using a double boiler until smooth.
  5. Pour melted chocolate over the peanut butter base and spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Once set, slice into bars and serve chilled. Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

  • Use natural peanut butter only if well-stirred and not too oily to ensure bars set properly.
  • Quick oats can replace graham cracker crumbs for a softer, chewier base.
  • Top with crushed peanuts or sea salt for added texture and contrast.
  • Bars soften at room temperature—best served chilled.
  • For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter.
