Pasta chips are a crispy, oven- or air-fried snack made from cooked pasta seasoned with herbs, spices, and cheese. Perfect for dipping and sharing, they’re a fun twist on traditional pasta and chips.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz short pasta (rigatoni, farfalle, penne, or rotini)
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese or vegan alternative (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried herbs of choice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional dips: marinara, ranch, hummus, pesto

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and let cool slightly.
  2. Transfer pasta to a mixing bowl. Toss with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Parmesan (if using).
  3. To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread pasta in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  4. To air fry: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Add seasoned pasta to the basket in a single layer. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
  • Skip the cheese or use a vegan alternative for dairy-free.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer if pasta chips lose their crunch.
  • Great served with dips like marinara, hummus, or ranch.
  • Don’t overcook or chips can become too hard.
