An Omelet Bar is a fun, customizable breakfast setup where everyone builds their own omelet using a variety of fresh ingredients like cheese, vegetables, meats, and herbs. Perfect for gatherings or family brunch.

Ingredients

  • 23 eggs per person
  • 1 tbsp milk or cream per omelet (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Shredded cheeses: cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, feta, goat cheese
  • Cooked meats: bacon, sausage, ham, turkey, chorizo
  • Vegetables: bell peppers, onions, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini
  • Fresh herbs: chives, parsley, basil, cilantro
  • Extras: jalapeños, olives, green onions, sun-dried tomatoes, avocado

Instructions

  1. Crack 2–3 eggs into a bowl. Add a splash of milk or cream (optional), salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add a bit of butter or oil to coat the pan.
  3. Pour in the egg mixture and cook undisturbed for 1–2 minutes until the edges begin to set.
  4. Gently push cooked eggs toward the center while tilting the pan to let uncooked eggs flow to the edges.
  5. When nearly set, add desired fillings to one half of the omelet.
  6. Fold the other half over the fillings and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  7. Slide onto a plate and serve warm. Repeat for additional servings.

Notes

  • Prep all fillings ahead of time and keep chilled until ready to use.
  • Use an 8–10 inch nonstick skillet for best results.
  • Offer a variety of toppings to accommodate dietary preferences.
  • Keep heat medium to avoid browning the omelet.
