  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing or optional use in topping)
  • Optional topping: 1 cup crushed potato chips, breadcrumbs, or French-fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chopped onion until smooth.
  4. Stir in tuna, cooked noodles, peas, and 3/4 cup of the shredded cheese until evenly combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and add optional topping if desired.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
