Oil-Free Asian Sweet Chili Dressing is a light, tangy, and slightly spicy dressing made with sweet chili sauce, vinegar, citrus, and aromatics. Perfect for salads, noodle bowls, marinades, or dipping sauces—without the heaviness of oil.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  2. 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  3. 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  4. 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  5. 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  6. 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  7. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  8. 23 tablespoons water (to thin, if needed)

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, and ginger until smooth.

  1. Add red pepper flakes for extra heat, if desired.
  2. Adjust thickness with a splash of water.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning: more lime for tang, soy sauce for saltiness, or chili flakes for spice.
  4. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a creamy twist, whisk in peanut butter or cashew butter.
  • Orange juice can replace lime for a sweeter citrus flavor.
  • Add chopped cilantro or green onions for freshness.
  • Rice vinegar is traditional, but apple cider vinegar works too.
  • Shake well before serving, as flavors may settle in the fridge.
