Inspired by the classic Mounds candy bar, these fudgy brownies are layered with a creamy coconut filling and topped with rich chocolate frosting, making them a decadent dessert perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a party, holiday gathering, or just craving something sweet, these Mounds-inspired brownies are easy to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

1 family-size (9×13-inch) box of brownie mix, prepared as directed

5 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

1 (16-ounce) can of chocolate frosting

Instructions

  • Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the package and bake in a 9×13-inch pan. Let cool completely.

  • In a bowl, mix shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and powdered sugar until smooth and well combined.

  • Spread the coconut mixture evenly over the cooled brownies.

  • Microwave chocolate frosting (remove lid and foil seal) for 10–15 seconds until pourable. Stir well.

  • Pour frosting over the coconut layer and spread evenly with a spatula.

  • Let brownies set at room temperature. Cut into squares and serve

Notes

  • For an Almond Joy twist, add chopped almonds to the coconut layer.

  • Use dark chocolate frosting for a richer flavor.

  • Homemade brownies can be substituted for boxed mix.

  • Make it vegan by using plant-based versions of brownie mix, condensed milk, and frosting.
