Mini grilled cheese sandwiches are bite-sized versions of the classic comfort food, featuring crispy golden bread and melty cheese. Perfect for snacks, parties, or quick lunches.

Ingredients

  • 24 small bread slices (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 68 slices cheese (cheddar, American, or mozzarella), cut to fit bread
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: thin tomato slices, ham, or mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice evenly.
  3. Place half of the slices, butter-side down, on a clean surface.
  4. Add cheese slices on top of each bread slice.
  5. Add optional ingredients like tomato or ham if using.
  6. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  7. Place sandwiches in the preheated skillet.
  8. Grill for 2–3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  9. Flip and grill for another 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
  10. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then cut into bite-sized pieces.

Notes

  • Use moderate heat to prevent burning and ensure the cheese melts properly.
  • Customize with different cheese or add-ins like ham or tomato.
  • Mayonnaise can be used instead of butter for a different flavor.
  • Cut larger sandwiches into minis if small bread isn’t available.
  • Great served with tomato soup or dipping sauces.
