Mini Cheese Queso Balls are bite-sized, creamy cheese appetizers made with a mix of cream cheese, shredded cheese, and flavorful seasonings, rolled in crunchy coatings for the perfect party snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend
  • 1 tbsp minced jalapeños or green chilies (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder or smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
  • 2 tbsp diced pimentos or crumbled bacon (optional)
  • Coatings: crushed tortilla chips, chopped nuts, fresh herbs, or shredded cheese
  • Toothpicks or mini skewers (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add jalapeños, green onions, pimentos, or bacon, if using. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Use a mini cookie scoop or spoon to portion out 1-inch balls, then roll with your hands until smooth.
  4. Roll each ball in your desired coating to evenly cover the surface.
  5. Place on a tray or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Insert toothpicks into each cheese ball before serving.
