A bright and zesty salmon dish inspired by margarita flavors, featuring a citrusy lime and orange marinade with savory spices. Baked or grilled until flaky, it’s a light yet satisfying meal perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together lime juice, lime zest, orange juice, olive oil, garlic, honey, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare grill over medium heat.
  4. Remove salmon from marinade and place on a lined baking sheet or directly on the grill.
  5. Bake 12–15 minutes or grill 4–5 minutes per side until salmon flakes easily and reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and lime slices before serving.

Notes

  • Do not marinate longer than 30 minutes to avoid breaking down the fish’s texture.
  • Salmon can also be cooked in a skillet over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently to prevent drying out.
  • This recipe is naturally dairy-free.
