Kroger Wings are flavorful, crispy chicken wings that you can easily make at home. Perfect for game day, family gatherings, or a casual meal, these wings are customizable with various seasonings and sauces to suit your cravings.

Ingredients

  1. 1012 chicken wings (whole or split into drums and flats)
  2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  3. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  4. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  5. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  8. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  9. For the sauce:
    • 1/4 cup melted butter
    • 1/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot or your preferred brand)
    • 1 tablespoon honey (for sweetness)
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional, for tang)
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Wings:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Drizzle olive oil over the wings, tossing to coat. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using), and toss again to evenly coat the wings.

  1. Bake the Wings:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place a cooling rack on top of the baking sheet and arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack. Bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, hot sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.
  3. Toss the Wings in Sauce:
Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the wings immediately with your favorite sides like celery, carrots, and ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the hot sauce or add extra cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
  • Try substituting the hot sauce with BBQ sauce for a sweet and tangy alternative.
  • If you prefer dry rub wings, skip the sauce and coat the wings in a blend of spices before baking.
