Hot Honey Chicken Nuggets are crispy, golden bites of chicken tossed in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze. The crunchy coating and sticky sauce create a bold balance of heat and sweetness in every bite.

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • All-purpose flour
  • Cornstarch
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Breadcrumbs or panko
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Honey
  • Hot sauce
  • Butter
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare a breading station with flour and cornstarch in one bowl, beaten eggs mixed with milk in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a third bowl.
  2. Coat each piece of chicken in the flour mixture.
  3. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture.
  4. Coat thoroughly with the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the chicken nuggets in batches for about 4–5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Transfer the nuggets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  9. Stir in honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes and warm for 1–2 minutes until combined.
  10. Toss the fried nuggets in the hot honey sauce until evenly coated and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cook the nuggets in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 10–12 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Bake them in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 18–20 minutes until crispy.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Reduce the hot sauce and red pepper flakes for a milder flavor.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds or sliced green onions on top for extra flavor and presentation.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
