Hot Berry Punch is a cozy, fruit-filled beverage made by simmering mixed berries with citrus juice and warm spices. Naturally sweet and aromatic, it’s a comforting and colorful drink perfect for cold days or festive occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup orange juice or apple juice
  • 23 tbsp honey, sugar, or maple syrup (to taste)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 34 whole cloves (optional)
  • Lemon or orange slices (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the berries, water, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the berries are soft and fragrant.
  3. Mash the berries lightly to release their juices.
  4. Add orange juice (or apple juice) and sweeten with honey or your preferred sweetener.
  5. Stir well and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
  7. Pour into mugs and garnish with lemon or orange slices and fresh mint if desired.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use frozen berries for convenience without sacrificing flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness depending on the natural tartness of your berries.
  • For extra spice, add a star anise or a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Avoid boiling for too long to preserve the berry flavor.
  • Serve with a cinnamon stick stirrer for a festive touch.
