Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (120 g) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise.
  2. Stir until smooth and fully blended.
  3. Add the prepared horseradish, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.
  4. Mix well until evenly combined.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Stir in chopped fresh herbs if using.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Substitute Greek yogurt for part or all of the sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Add a splash of white wine vinegar for extra tang.
  • Use freshly grated horseradish for a stronger, sharper flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Stir before serving if slight separation occurs.
