Hooters Chicken Wing Sauce is a bold, tangy, and spicy sauce perfect for coating your chicken wings. The combination of hot sauce, butter, and seasonings gives it the signature Hooters flavor, making it the ideal addition to any batch of wings.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot is a great choice)
  2. 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  3. 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  7. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  8. Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Melt the butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent it from browning.

  1. Add the hot sauce and seasonings: Once the butter is melted, add the hot sauce, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.
  2. Simmer the sauce: Let the sauce simmer over low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld together.
  3. Season and adjust: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt, pepper, or additional cayenne pepper for more heat if desired.
  4. Coat the wings: Once the sauce is ready, toss it with freshly cooked wings or drizzle it over your wings. Serve immediately with your favorite sides, like celery, carrots, or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • Mild Version: Use less hot sauce or switch to a milder hot sauce variety like Tabasco Sweet & Spicy for a less fiery version.
  • Sweet & Spicy: Add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar to the sauce for a sweet twist that complements the heat.
  • Garlic Parmesan: Add grated Parmesan cheese and extra garlic to the sauce for a garlic parmesan version of the sauce.
  • Extra Spicy: Add a dash of extra cayenne pepper or a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to intensify the heat.
