Honey Mustard Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy chicken coated in a tangy-sweet honey mustard glaze. It’s easy to prepare, naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, whole grain mustard (if using), olive oil, garlic, and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken in a baking dish and pour the sauce over it, turning to coat evenly.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), basting once halfway through.
  5. Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a caramelized finish.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for more flavor and moisture—adjust cooking time as needed.
  • Marinate the chicken up to 24 hours in advance for deeper flavor.
  • Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Serve with rice, quinoa, roasted vegetables, or salad.
  • Pan-sear or grill the chicken for different textures.
