Honey Garlic Chicken is a deliciously sweet and savory dish where tender chicken is glazed in a sticky honey and garlic sauce, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  1. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 cup honey
    1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
    2 tablespoons water (for sauce)

Instructions

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.

  1. Cook chicken 5-7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Mix honey, soy sauce, and vinegar in a small bowl. Pour into skillet and bring to simmer.
  4. Optional: Mix cornstarch with water and stir into skillet. Cook until sauce thickens.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, coat with sauce, and cook 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve hot over rice or favorite sides, spooning extra sauce on top.

Notes

  1. Use chicken thighs for juicier meat.
  2. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy twist.
  3. Incorporate ginger for warmth and depth.
  4. Add steamed broccoli or snap peas for a one-pan meal.
  5. Store leftovers in airtight container up to 3 days refrigerated.
  6. Reheat gently, adding splash of water if sauce thickens too much.
