Homemade peanut butter is a rich, creamy spread made with just a few simple ingredients. It’s easy to prepare and delivers a fresh, nutty flavor perfect for everyday use.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups roasted peanuts (unsalted or salted)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons neutral oil (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the roasted peanuts to a food processor or high-powered blender.
  2. Blend the peanuts, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  3. The peanuts will turn from crumbs to a thick paste and eventually into a smooth, creamy butter (about 5 to 10 minutes).
  4. Add oil if needed for a smoother consistency.
  5. Mix in salt and optional honey or maple syrup to taste.
  6. Continue blending until you reach your desired texture, smooth or slightly chunky.
  7. Transfer to a clean jar or airtight container.

Notes

  • Peanuts release natural oils, so added oil is optional.
  • Blend longer for an extra smooth texture.
  • Stir before use if natural oil separation occurs.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  • Add cocoa powder or cinnamon for flavor variations.
