Turn ordinary ground turkey into golden, crispy nuggets that are just as satisfying as their chicken counterparts. Perfectly seasoned, tender inside, and ideal for dipping, these homemade nuggets are a family-friendly twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb ground turkey
  2. 1 egg
  3. 3 tbsp ketchup (or 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce)
  4. ½ tsp garlic powder
  5. ½ tsp onion powder
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. ½ tsp black pepper
  8. ¾ cup breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned or plain) for the meat mixture
  9. ½ cup extra breadcrumbs for coating

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, egg, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and ¾ cup breadcrumbs until just combined.
  2. Pour the remaining ½ cup breadcrumbs into a shallow bowl.
  3. Form the turkey mixture into nugget-sized pieces (makes ~24). Roll each nugget in the extra breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to help them stick.
  4. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 20–23 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  5. Optional: For extra crispness, broil for 1–2 minutes per side after baking.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces—ketchup, BBQ, honey mustard, or ranch.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the nuggets for a minute or two after baking.
  • If you’re making these in the air fryer, preheat to 360°F and cook for 10–12 minutes.
  • Feel free to add chili flakes, paprika, or cheese to the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.
  • Freeze extras for easy reheating later.
  • These are safe for toddlers as long as excessive seasoning is avoided.
