These Healthiest Protein Brownies are a delicious, guilt-free treat packed with wholesome ingredients and a good dose of protein. Perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings while supporting your fitness goals, they combine rich cocoa flavor with a soft, fudgy texture.

Ingredients

1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together oat flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in dark chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
  8. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  1. Swap oat flour for almond flour for a nuttier flavor and lower carbs.
  2. Use plant-based protein powder and flax eggs for a vegan version.
  3. Add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  4. Mix in dried fruits such as cranberries or raisins for sweetness and texture.
  5. Substitute Greek yogurt with dairy-free yogurt for lactose-free option.
  6. Store brownies at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate up to a week.
  7. Freeze individually wrapped brownies for up to 3 months.
  8. Reheat in microwave for 15-20 seconds or thaw at room temperature.
