Guacamole is a classic creamy dip made from ripe avocados, fresh lime juice, and simple seasonings. This quick and flavorful recipe is perfect for serving with chips, tacos, sandwiches, or grilled dishes.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork until the desired texture is reached, either smooth or slightly chunky.
  3. Add the lime juice and mix well to help prevent browning.
  4. Stir in the chopped red onion, diced tomato, and minced garlic.
  5. Add the chopped cilantro and jalapeño if using.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, or other dishes.

Notes

  • Add diced mango or pineapple for a sweet and tangy variation.
  • Roasted corn can be mixed in for extra texture and flavor.
  • Blend the guacamole if a smoother consistency is preferred.
  • Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before storing to reduce browning.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
