Ground Turkey Meatloaf is a healthy twist on the classic comfort food, made with lean ground turkey, simple pantry ingredients, and a sweet-savory glaze. It’s moist, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs ground turkey (preferably 93% lean)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus 23 tbsp for topping)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard (if using), salt, pepper, and seasonings. Mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.
  3. Shape mixture into a loaf and place on a lined or greased baking sheet, or use a loaf pan.
  4. Spread additional ketchup over the top as a glaze.
  5. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Add finely grated vegetables (like carrots or zucchini) for added moisture and nutrition.
  • Use oats instead of breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
  • Swap ketchup glaze for BBQ sauce for a smoky twist.
  • Ground chicken can be used in place of turkey.
  • Makes great leftovers for sandwiches or meal prep.
