Grilled Shrimp is a quick and flavorful dish with a savory marinade of garlic, lemon, and herbs, perfect for grilling and serving as an appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  2. 2 tbsp olive oil
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  5. 1 tsp lemon zest
  6. 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  7. 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  8. 1/4 tsp salt
  9. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  10. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the marinade: In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  1. Marinate the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Thread the shrimp onto skewers: Thread the shrimp onto skewers for easy grilling.
  4. Grill the shrimp: Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side or until they are pink, opaque, and have grill marks.
  5. Serve: Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Try using fresh thyme or basil instead of oregano for a different herbal flavor.
  • Serve the shrimp in tacos with slaw, avocado, and lime for a flavorful meal.
  • If you don’t have skewers, you can grill the shrimp directly on the grill or in a grilling basket.
