Grilled Greek Chicken is a flavorful and aromatic dish featuring tender chicken marinated in a blend of lemon, garlic, and traditional Greek herbs. Perfectly charred on the grill, this chicken is juicy and bursting with Mediterranean flavors.

Ingredients

  1. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
    1/4 cup olive oil
    Juice of 1 large lemon
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    2 teaspoons dried oregano
    1 teaspoon dried thyme
    1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Optional: fresh parsley or oregano for garnish

Instructions

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.

  1. Place chicken in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 2-4 hours.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade.
  4. Grill chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley or oregano before serving.

Notes

  1. Use bone-in chicken pieces for extra flavor.
  2. Add fresh lemon zest to the marinade for a stronger citrus flavor.
  3. Serve with tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread.
  4. Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
  5. Marinate with fresh herbs like rosemary or mint for a different twist.
